Game Sound Card

Q: How does a game sound card improve play?

A: With a game sound card, your game play will seem more realistic.

Some would call it an unfair advantage. You hear footfalls. Someone is running up on you. But from what direction? With a game sound card, you know the other player is to your right and below. There must be a path below you. You move to take position above it.  The other player hears you move, but cannot tell that you are located above. That's where the unfair advantage comes in, and it's all because you have a game sound card.

In PC-based video games, to deliver the amount of information necessary to provide multi-channel surround-sound capability is too great for most computers. That's why you need a game sound card. Otherwise, you are left playing in stereo when you really want surround sound. Even if you find a game that provides surround sound, if your sound card does not support multi-channel playback you will be stuck with simple stereo.

The Auzentech X-Mystique and X-Plosion sound cards are ideal as game sound cards. When you start with a stereo source such as a video game, MPEG, or MP3 file, these game soundcards up-sample the audio to surround sound. And any sound source that already includes surround sound will be replayed faithfully, not downsampled into stereo as a basic soundcard will do.

How many channels of sound can you hear? With the X-Mystique, the first PCI soundcard to support Dolby™ Digital Live (DDL), you have 5.1 channels of surround sound. With the X-Plosion game sound card, you have 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 channels available thanks to on-board support for DTS, which provides more sound data and more channels than DDL.

Already own a surround sound decoder? No problem. Just connect your home-theater surround sound system using the supplied optical connector. Own a multi-channel speaker system? Plug it directly into the back of these game sound cards for stunning multi-channel sound. Only have stereo speakers or do most of your playing with headphones? You can enjoy virtual surround sound using the included Xear3D™ virtual speaker shifter.

Your PC-based video games may not have surround-sound built-in, but you can have it anyway. With the X-Mystique or X-Plosion game sound cards from Auzentech, you can hear full surround sound using your home theater decoder, multi-channel speakers, or even just headphones—from any stereo source. Your opponents would call it an unfair advantage. We just call it a great game sound card.
