Auzentech also announced an Upgrade Program for owners of the X-Fi Prelude and X-Meridian sound cards. Owners of those sound cards can receive a rebate of $50 when they trade-in their old sound card, in accordance with the terms of the program.
Mr. Stephane Bae, president of Auzentech, Inc., spoke about both programs.
Pre-Orders: "Excitement is very high as the X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD sound card nears release," said Bae. "Some customers want to be among the first to own the world's first HDMI 1.3 audio card based on Creative X-Fi native PCI express chipset. By pre-ordering, they can." Bae explained that pre-orders will be filled before any others.
Upgrades: "The upgrade program is our way of rewarding customers who have supported our earlier sound cards," said Bae. "For Auzentech customers who are ready to step up to the most advanced audio card on the market, it's a great opportunity."
Actual shipments of the X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD to customers will begin in mid-August. The release of the X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD sound card follows the completion of several rounds of testing by Auzentech staff to match the sound card to a full spectrum of home theater equipment. The product itself is the result of cooperation between several companies that include Auzentech, Creative Labs, Cyberlink, and Silicon Image.

About PCI Express™
PCI Express™ (PCIe) is a serial bus standard that provides a higher throughput than the older, parallel PCI bus standard. Unlike competing PCI Express™ sound cards built with PCI processors adapted for the PCIe slot, the X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD is built around Creative Labs' PCI Express™ processor. As a native-PCI Express™ sound card, the X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD can take full advantage of the higher-throughput of the PCIe bus.
