Playback Resolution
Resolution is a key sound card technology. The X-Mystique sound card and X-Plosion sound card have a playback resolution of 24-bits, 96 KHz in both stereo and 7.1 channel surround sound. The X-Purity sound card is designed to provide a resolution that is 24-bit, 192 kHz. In practical terms, this means that the audio coming from Auzentech sound cards is indistinguishable from analog sources. In fact, the majority of users will prefer the sound due to the absence of defects such as tape hiss. For comparison, a CD 16 bit at 44.1 kHz. DVD audio has a sampling rate that is generally 24 bit/ at 96kHz; the maximum is 24 bit at 192 kHz.
Dolby® Digital Live real time encoding
This is the encoding sound card technology that allows any audio signal to be delivered as a digital bitstream to your home theater system. The Auzentech X-Mystique sound card, X-Plosion sound card, and X-Purity sound card are designed with Dolby® Digital Live. In fact, the X-Mystique was the world's first DDL certified PCI soundcard.
Dolby® Digital EX
Dolby® Digital EX sound card technology turns 5.1 channel audio into 7.1 channels. The X-Mystique sound card, X-Plosion sound card, and X-Purity sound card are all designed for Dolby® Digital EX.
Dolby® Pro Logic IIX
Dolby® Pro Logic IIX is a sound card technology that allows two or more channels of audio to be up-mixed into 7.1 channel surround sound. The forthcoming Auzentech X-Purity sound card will support it.
EAX®
EAX is a sound card technology of Creative Labs, introduced in the more recent Sound Blaster® sound cards. The goal of EAX is to create more 3D sound ambience during gameplay. The X-Mystique sound card, X-Plosion sound card, and X-Purity sound card all support EAX 2.0.
DTS Interactive
DTS Interactive™ is a real time DTS encoding sound card technology. It allows any two-channel or greater source to be encoded into a DTS digital bitstream to be sent by optical cable to your DTS-enabled Audio Visual receiver. The X-Mystique sound card, X-Plosion sound card, and X-Purity sound card all support DTS Interactive™.
DTS NEO:PC
DTS NEO:PC™ is an up-mix component of DTS Connect® that allows multi-channel output from two-channel sources. It can be combined with DTS Interactive™ to send the signal to your audio visual receiver. The X-Mystique sound card, X-Plosion sound card, and X-Purity sound card support DTS NEO:PC™ sound card technology.
Toslink optical output
The Auzentech X-Mystique, X-Purity, and X-Plosion soundcards contain an optical interface using Toslink connectors. Toslink is a sound card technology used to carry a digital bitstream from your sound card to your Audio Visual receiver, for perfect audio. Coaxial output is also available on the X-Mystique sound card, X-Plosion sound card, and X-Purity sound card.
